A few frost susceptible semi hardy perennials are heading over to Donegal for two days, to either paddle or look out at the rain and wind with a pint of Guinness in hand. The carfully hatched plan is to paddle out from Burtonport on Wednesday morning (27th December) - route depends on time of arrival on the coast and bumpiness of sea - to stay in Arranmore hostel for the night. The following day the plan is to cook a huge Irish breakfast, recover and head (possibly but unlikely due to weather!) around Arranmore. More likely the route will be back to Burtonport darting between the islands for shelter!
This is not a ‘led’ group or an ‘official’ ISKA meet, but self sufficient independent travelers are very welcome to join us, and either fit around our trip, or make your own trip up. The only firm (probably!) arrangement will be the overnight stay in Arranmore hostel (ph 074 9520737) on Wednesday night.
The team sheet so far is John Knox, Willy Gordon, Mary Butler, Cuan Boake, Phil Beattie, Chris McCann, Nial McMurray and David Hughes.
Enjoy the Christmas break.
