Call Jaume at 0034 606 442129, he has his shop in Barcelona but uses to go to Majorca very often. He could give you advise in rental and routes down there...as far as I know the wild north coast is undoubtedly the best.
If you also intend to go to Menorca, I can provide you with maps, routes, etc.
