Oileáin

When Oileáin went to press in mid-2004 there were 313 islands dealt with, and now there are 405.
My relationship with the constantly developing concept that is “Oileáin” has constantly been developing, and still is.
By reason of a couple of comments made to me recently, I have begun to suspect that there could be others out there who also have a very real interest and a very constructive view of Oileáin’s place in the scheme of things, what it is, what it might be, what it could be, what it should be.
I would greatly value comment.

I don\'t know if my view is of any use or what comments were put forward, however..

In my opinion the standard of information relevant to visiting and camping on an island or embarkation points already exceeds what I had expected from the guide. If you\'re thinking of doing a second edition that has even more islands described, I\'ll buy it.

I\'ll offer to draft read the parts that describe locations I have visited (not many I\'m afraid) to see if I can offer additions. If you need to divide the effort of field research I am also a volunteer.

I\'m not sure what you mean by \"what it could be\". It is already unique in its value to the reader right now.

Thank you to Ciaran who has replied publicly to this posting, and to others who responded otherwise. Ciaran offers to comment on the guide\'s descriptions of places he has been, with a view to hopefully improving those descriptions or keeping them up to date in a changing world.
Oileáin is on-line, the up to date version, all the time, so anyone can look at the description in Oileáin as it now stands at any time with regard to any place, and do the needful.
All such comments gratefully received.
