Humphry Murphy

Post by DaveWalsh » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:46 pm

The above is in Tibet attempting Everest by the North Ridge with an international expedition. NB not the Grania Willis team, I understand. He has tried and failed to get to the North Col 3 times already so they are well up on the seasons. He is well and acclimatising to his satisfaction. Its cold, its windy, and its bleak betimes, like a Connemara summer, except the sun shines too.
Humphry has inspired more sea kayakers than probably any other Irishman ever. He attempted the first and only (that I know of) attempt to round Ireland in winter (which proves he has just what it takes at what he is at right now ?).
Fingers and toes crossed, everyone.

Thanks for letting us know Dave,
He always was and obviously still is a great representative for Irish adventure.
Is there a web site you know of where we can keep up to date.
Bet the family have their fingers crossed.
Jim
