Niamh (8) in her 2/3 scale, scratch-built composite boat. Valley fittings throughout, but thanks to Des at DBS for the footrests.
Tippy enough to be challenging (19\" beam) but surprisingly good secondary stability, and fast (for a 13\' boat) and light at 16kg.

Brilliant! Where are you, CeeGee ? I\'ve a daughter who\'d love a go....

Thanks Des, and thanks for the keeper\'s foortests, they work great.
Ciaran, I\'m in Schull, west Cork. Niamh did the weeks course at the local centre last year and loved it. Trouble is the Squirts they use are too stable (with good reason) to really learn boat handling. I still ask myself it it was worth the many hours put in, but better than watching telly on winter evenings.
We tried it out yesterday, and on her insistance, went as far as Bull Rock, 400m offshore in Schull harbour mouth - I\'m now reduced to the role of a mother duck!!! Bit of a breeze with some broaching swells but she (and the boat) coped admirably. Going to try TX then eskimo rescues next, but need to find (or make) a spaydeck small enough.
All the best,
Steve
P.S. sorry about the double image - double clicked by mistake
