Come and Try it Weekend

Post by Pit » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:47 pm

Come and Try it Weekend at Streamstown,Connemara-May 6th-7th.
This weekend is not for absolute beginners, experience of kayaking (though not necessarily Seakayaking) is required.
Weather permitting there will be organized trips and informal learning sessions(including rescues and other essential skills).
Boats and equipment can be hired from Des Keaney- call him on 086 820 5627 or 01 276 0263 .
The weekend will be based at the campsite in Streamstown, which has direct and easy access to the sea. For those not wishing to camp there are B&Bs and hostels in Clifden.
I am also asking for assistance, especially from some of our recently qualified instructors this would be a good opportunity to gain some instructing experience.
I can be contacted on 086 30 33 406 or(weekends) 065 90 50 490.
Directions and other info will be posted nearer the date.

Can any \"triers\" interested in attending the come and try it weekend please contact Des by Sunday night. If no-one confirms by then, the come-and-try-it element will be cancelled ie there will be a trip or trips but they will not be led and there will be no boats or gear available for hire.
If the weather is bad, there\'s plenty of sheltered paddling available in the area so, on the offchance that some might be delaying on that basis, don\'t - there\'s no point.
