Message from Daragh Morgan who is undertaking a round Ireland sea swim challenge ;
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is Daragh Morgan, and I am an adventure athlete undertaking a challenge that has never been completed before—a full swim around Ireland.
In the world of endurance swimming, I have completed over 10 marathon swims, including:
• Swimming around Howth Head
• Forty Foot to Greystones
• Galway Bay (twice)
• Clare to Galway
• And many more challenging open-water swims including 3 Triathelons (IronMans)
Beyond swimming, I’ve also taken on major endurance runs, including a run from Mizen Head to Malin Head (the length of Ireland) and a coast-to-coast run from Galway to Dublin.
This challenge is about much more than just the physical journey. The Big Why behind SwimÉire is to raise awareness and support for three key causes:
1. The Simon Community – I truly believe that access to food, shelter, and water is the foundation for everything. Without these basic needs covered, we can’t even begin to think about taking on challenges, pursuing goals, or living a fulfilling life. Everyone in Ireland, and everywhere, deserves that fundamental security.
2. Ocean Conservation – As someone who spends so much time in the water, I see firsthand the beauty and fragility of our seas. This swim is about raising awareness for the importance of protecting our marine environment.
I’d love to connect with the canoeing/kayaking community as I take on this challenge, and I truly appreciate any direct support , advice, or interest you might have in following the journey.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Daragh Morgan
