Canoeing Ireland Strategic Plan

Post by suehonan » Tue Mar 19, 2024 10:46 am

Hi All
If you are a member of Canoeing Ireland you will have received an email announcing the publication of its Strategic Plan for 2024-27.
The six pillars the strategy is built upon reflect the growth of the organisation since the previous plan, and in the particular importance of environmental and sustainability, and equality, diversity and inclusion. The pillars are:

1. Governance and Leadership
2. Marketing, Communications and Member Engagement
3. Infrastructure and Facilities
4. Participation and Inclusion
5. Competition Pathway and Athlete Development
6. Sustainability, Environmental Responsibility and Access

As a member of the Strategic Plan working group myself and Ronan Shaw developed Priority 6- Sustainability, Environmental Responsibility and Access. But everyone on the working group contributed in some way to all pillars.
Some of our Priority 6 goals are long term but as you know, if you are undertaking any of the new sea kayaking skills awards, we are already making progress on integrating environmental awareness into all CI awards whether skills, instructor, river or other discipline based. It was really exciting to be part of this group, shaping the future development of Canoeing Ireland and providing a sea kayaker's perspective.
Please have a read of that email and the link to the plan is below. Thanks.
Sue
