It's different!
My name is Patrick Kinsella, I live in France and last year I completed a 24 hour solo Spinathon http://www.braycancersupport.ie/?tag=spinathon in aid of Bray Cancer Support in Co. Wicklow.
Over the Winter I have been training on my Hobie Adventure Kayak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWqEzYggvbcin the south of France around the Antibes/Cannes coastline ahead of an event I would like to do this summer, again in aid of Bray Cancer Support. I would like to cross the Irish Sea from Northern Ireland to Scotland and back. It is approx. a 75KM journey and I am writing to your association to see if anyone that would be interested in accompanying me? I have completed 60 & 70km non-stop trips in the Med, but as I am unfamiliar with this crossing/area, I am hoping to make contact with someone that would like to come with me. I took up kayaking last year but I am pretty fit and my average speed during previous 60-70km trips, including breaks, is approx. 6-6.5 km per hour. I'm using thé Hobie mirage drive pedalling system, so hopefully my speed is fast enough to keep up with more experienced kayakers!
