Posting a picture on the BB
Posting a picture on the BB
Having had problems loading pictures in the past, here\'s the original procedure slightly updated...
o Make sure there are no spaces or special characters in the image filename.
o Make sure the file is less than 1000 pixels wide.
o Click the [img] button (on the same line as \'Select Image file to attach\'). This puts a \'place holder\' in your message.
o Then use the Browse button (on the same line as \'Select Image file to attach\'), to browse to the picture on your hard disk.
o When the filename has appeared in the window to the left of the \'Browse\' button, and you have finished the text of your message, click the \'Submit\' button. Your picture will be uploaded - this will take a short while. Then it should appear as part of your post.Post edited by: deskeaney, at: 2010/01/03 21:43

Re:Hmmmm !!!
Test again, this time with no blanks or special characters in the filename.

Not sure why yours didn\'t work Brian. For info, the \'test\' file above is only 36kb.
I entered the text above, pressed carraige return to go to a new line,
then pressed the [img] button,
then pressed the adjacent \'Browse\' button and
then pressed \'Submit\'
The only difference I can see is that your image size is 3072 and this one is 400...
Nice shot by the way...

Since the file displays, it\'s obviously uploaded ok. The only difficulty I had when I pasted it from your entry above was a space at the end of the line in the address. So, instead of reading \'ICE1.JPG\', it read \'I CE1.JPG\'. It might be worth editing your entry to see if there\'s anything like that visible?Post edited by: deskeaney, at: 2010/01/02 18:12

Re:Hmmmm !!!
There seems to be a defenite size limitation here.
Will try this one for the crack. If it doesn\'t work i\'ll agree with Maurice that this is indeed the work of the devil.
Thanks for the help though Des.
Happy New year to yourself and Maurice. Mac

Children,
Come closer and listen,
The filename Brian gave was more than a line long, so it split, and when it was cut and pasted, the split showed a gap, just like uncle Des said to avoid. Look closely, there is a gap within the word \"ice1\" just before the .JPG.
So I thought I\'d have a go.
If a lúdaramán like myself can manage ..... ?????

Folks
Same problem again, same solution.
The word IMG got split, so just unsplit it.
In technical terms, the soft carriage return has been replaced with a spacebar.
For those who weren\'t aware the image is of the partial lunar eclipse as at 1920 hours on New Year\'s Eve as seen from deep and crisp and even Northwest Clare.
For those who tried Des\' method and failed, consider the possibility the [img] button you press is NOT the IMG button you can see near the top of the screen, you have to scroll down to well below this text box.
Here is another effort, a tuft of grass in a limestone pavement on Christmas Eve 2009, just to see do I really really have the hang of this ?
