The details for the symposium are being finalised, but it\'s going to be a good one: early morning pool sessions (practise your pre-breakfast roll), late night drinking, workshops, trade stands, flea markets, photo competitions, raffles and maybe even some paddling!

Most remarkably, in these times of recession, it\'s all at the same price as last year!

Details will be posted here as they are finalised. In the mean time, here is the booking form.
Print it, fill it out, and post it to

The final date for bookings is Friday Oct 24th. However, there are a limited number of rooms in the hotel, so best return the booking form as soon as possible.

Just 3 days to go...

Post by niallmadden » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

All the rooms originally assigned to us by the hotel are now booked. They have given us a few more, but you\'ll need to get your skates on if you are to avoid a walk in the rain after the symposium dinner.

However there is a more urgent reason to book, even if you don\'t plan to stay in the hotel; the specially designed t-shirts go to the printers next Monday. Only those who book by Friday will get one.

Hi all,

Registration for the Symposium (i.e., picking up your t-shirt) will take place Friday from 7pm in the foyer of the Yeats Country.

The full programme and sign-up sheets for Saturday\'s activities will go up at that time. Numbers at some of the workshops - particularly the pool sessions and the cookery one - will be strictly limited. So sign up early to avoid disappointment.

We haven\'t put up a detailed programme yet because some of the events are highly weather dependent, so some flexibility is required.

Pool sessions Saturday (7.30-9) and Sunday (8-9) morning. Those planning day a long paddling trip on Sat meet at 9.30 in Foyer.

On-land workshops will start at 10ish, with details more or less as outlined in earlier posts.

It\'s planned that on water workshops will include surfing and deep water rescues, and kayak racing (highly weather dependent). In addition there will be coaching sessions aimed specifically at \"improvers\".

The dinner on Saturday is scheduled for 6.30, and will be followed by the Open Forum, Raffle and a slide show.

Throughout the weekend, River Deep Mountain High, Great Outdoors and Deep Blue will run trade stands.

If you need to hire a boat, call Des at Deep Blue or Ali at Saorise na Mara in advance.

See you Friday,
Niall.
