Finding the right boat is hard

Post by derekmeade » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

Hi all. I\'m looking to tap into your collective vast experience here and see if I can get some good advice.

Basically I\'m a newbie and have done a few courses and gotten the bug so now I want a boat.

Some people have told me hold out and get a fibreglass boat 2nd hand while others have said get a plastic.

I\'ve paddled only plastic and its only been various Aquanauts so far.

The budget is limited but maybe could stretch to a new plastic but my question to you is will I be fed up with my slow, heavy plastic 18 months down the road and want a glass boat??

If plastic was the decision and you had a choice of a capella, aquanaut HV or a plastic Nordkapp which would you choose?

All advice greatly appreciated and or any decent boats that are looking for a new enthusiastic owner :)

Will put up a WANTED ad when I decide whats best. Thanks all.

try various boats in different conditions before you buy.
if you are at any of the ISKA meets most people are willing to let you have a try of their own boat.
good luck
