Folks any paddlers landing & strolling on Dalkey Is. should be aware that the
Gt. Black Back Gulls are nesting on the Eastern Side of the Island not far from the fort.
Please observe but do not disturb by walking through the area.
Nests are on the ground and eggs are large speckled brown & quite hard to see until up close.
Oystercatchers will also be nesting but further North on the island.
Terns (Artic & Roseate) are nesting on Lamb Island.
Muglins remains a no landing zone as it is also an important nesting site.
Thanks
Alan
