So there you have it

Post by Sonja » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

Last nights talk by Keirron Tastagh was the last of the winter social evenings as organised by your outgoing meets officer. It was great to have someone totally new to share what sounds like a fairly harsh trip, a totally different side to paddling, to that which we\'ve seen up until now.
Thank you to all who supported by being there. As usual Carl was there to save the day with tricky computers which never want to do what they are supposed to....for a while I thought it was going to be a non starter altogether!
I have really enjoyed all the talks to date, to me, it seemed like a natural extension of the clubs activities to share the trips that people make - sometimes the low turnout would indicate that not everyone shared this view. The standard of the presentations were without fail were first class, and to all of you that presented an evening, thank you so much for putting in so much effort.
Best of luck to Julian Haynes who is now taking over as meets officer, it isn\'t always an easy job, trying to find leaders throughout the summer months is an ever increasing problem with the standard of paddling rising all the time, and so many of you going on expeditions. To all of the leaders who committed to leading weekend after weekend, thanks, the club would be dead without you.
So there you have it.
Thanks
Sonja ;)

I resemble these remarks. Well done, and thanks.

It is though with great sadness that I report the death last Monday of one of my heroes the great Ollie Johnston, animator for Disney for generations, whose greatest success ever surely was the Monkey Song from the Jungle Book? I think that as a mark of respect we should agree to no more slide shows for at least a month, say, until after 18th May 2008. Its the least we can do.

Sonja
I would like to add my thanks and appreciation for your time as Meets Officer.
I think you managed to push us to the next level in terms of the paddles
and introduced all the social nights during the winter evenings which
by and large were successful.
