Policies on Young Paddlers

Hi all,

following due process and with legal advice, the Committee has established the ISKA \"Underage Paddling Policy Statement\". This document describes the circumstances under which ISKA leaders may opt to allow underage paddlers to accompany ISKA groups. There is also a legal waiver document, which all underage paddlers must bring with them when they wish to go out with ISKA.

I\'d suggest that those of us who envisage bringing kids along at any stage in the future, should download the documents and have them ready for the day they paddle. See the front page for download links, or get them here...(see the next message for the waiver file).

An interesting point in the underage paddling policy is the onus on all paddlers in the group to support the leader\'s decision if he or she refuses to take a young paddler on the water.
