Conor,
No pass marks allowed in this class. Which hog, if a hog be it ?
We can\'t after all be seen to be unfair to Wilhelm, who has received \"great encouragement\" in this regard in the recent past.

the low tide is distracting me and drawing me to Say Illauntannig....buuuuut..You being more like a cross between a Zen master and Olympic coach would never let it be that easy!
I\'m going to have to make a tough call, and say.....er....agh
Illaunturlogh

Put me out of my misery...pleeeease!

Well done, a first class honours mark.
Here is the same shot from Illantannig with Illaunturlough in the middleground, just to give perspective.
FYI the word limestone only appears in Oileain 17 times and 7 of those are in the Burren. A little research might have eased your angst a little sooner ?
Well done anyway but that\'s it for this year, unless Knotman appears out of the woodwork his wonders to perform.

Phew! Thanks, it was a tough one! And nice photos. The Maharee islands are pretty special and the grub and pints in Spillanes add to the experience!
Happy Christmas

Folks,
At the risk of flogging a dead horse, I attach two copies of shots on Illaunturlogh. It is very central to the Magharees, a huge island, especially at LW, and rough going, especially in between. One can see that the main landing will always be in the curve between the main island and the offlying (HW only) Minnuan Point to its NE.
Willie raised a huge point though (and Wilhelm I am not getting at you this time, I promise). I didn\'t think there was anyone using Oileáin as it was printed in 2004 as their Gospel these days? It has been republished and republished on the www at www.oileain.org a million times since. It worries me that a disciple such as Wilhelm did not instinctively follow the up to date thread.
The number of islands grew from 313 in 2004 to 529 today.
In fairness Illaunturlogh was island 498. These things are rigorously audited. My auditor is Sean Pierce. My claim to the numbers of islands personally visited may someday be carefully examined. Illauntorlough was in the summer of 2009. The following day Samphire Island Little hit Oileáin island number 500 and took the limelight perhaps ?
I have no idea where this whole Oileáin concept will finish up or who will carry the torch forward in future years, but I do know that as of this date, 15th December 2011, Oileáin 2012 is going to the editor*****, there are 529 islands, and the first you heard it was here !
