East Coast Trip 29 October Bray 10.30

Post by ciaranclissmann » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:47 pm

Hi All

the Halloween paddle is from Bray, 10.30 (NOT 10.00, but feel free to come early if you want to!). HW Dublin 1023, a bit earlier in Bray, so an ebbing tide, I imagine.

Eileen M is too worn out after her sprint around Ireland (you get ot a certain age), so I\'ll be leading the trip.

V.windy at least up to Thursday night, so could be choppy....

Hi all

Sorry to disappoint but Eileen M is very much alive and well and will be leading the trip on Sat. 29th as scheduled. Ciaran C too worn out to read the schedule properly. This young boy will have to be put down. Will somebody please take on the job? I can visualize the queue already!!

Meet Bray 10.30am. For anyone interested, the plan is to do a skills session after the paddle and before we get off the water so come prepared. I\'ll post further information Friday evening re weather and trip plan but at this stage it looks like a wild weekend is in store.

I\'m sure Eileen that there will be plenty of big waves around to put this young whippersnapper in his place ie. upsidedown and in the water. This can only be good for the sport as we need all the rescue practise we can get. When we paddle with skilled paddlers like your good self who never fall in (not even once in 850 miles) it\'s great to have a few reliables around. :)

If it stays like the forecast, Eileen won\'t be the only source of wobbles and wind.

Hi again

Weather forecast very windy as expected. South to south east f4/5 saturday morning increasing F6/7 later. Meet anyway as planned at south end of sea front Bray 10.30am. Tide will be ebbing so could be interesting conditions off Bray Head. Alternatively, if conditions are too rough, we can do some \"in the water\" drills. Bring a paddle float if you have one. Also if you are interested, Senan will instruct the Chris Duff self rescue technique.
