These two shockproof ones were suggested:

Hi Ciaran,
There are good prices for the Gopro HD Camera\'s online as well. The advantage of the gopro is the various options of securing it to your boat or even onto your helmet. You can set it to film HD resolution film or even to take HD quality still images over a two and a half hour period without ever touching it. This allows you to concentrate on staying upright which is handy !
See this ebay list; http://www.ebay.ie/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... pro+camera
Prices as you can see are not bad and they come with all the attachments to secure the camera to you or your boat.
Might do the job. Hope that helps !!
Just to see it in action and the image quality see this link; this was filmed by Eoin with the camera strapped onto a bodyboard, surfing off Haggs and the cliffs of Moher, Enjoy !!!

Re:Camera recommendations
Had a Fujifilm XP 30 for a few short months and it was a huge disapointment. The battery door is flimsily secured and horror.....it kept springing open with the barest of pressure. One day this happened while submerged = end of camera. Hopeless. Now have a Lumix FT3 which was pricey but is much more secure.
