Did no-one get the recent MAGNIFICENT Treasna ?
Or did no-one guess the island even with all those clues ?
And did no-one figure the navigation thing ?
In fact, is there anyone out there ?
Earth to ISKA - Channel 10 please.

They finished just north of Balbriggan. The light they saw was from Balbriggan pier. and the Klaxon was probably from the rocks just north of where they landed. The police siren was from Balbriggan. As it was springs and they were heading off two hours after the flood tide started at the Rock, they were carried north. As they got in closer the flood would be in full flow which would have moved them more north.

They should have headed off on a bearing of approx. 240. They then could have used the inner islands as a stepping stone. When navigating in fog or darkness each leg of the trip should be kept to the shortest possible distance possible.

As for the island identification I didn\'t even bother to try.

Level 5s are exempt from these quizzes so butt out Carraher. Quizzes are there to tittilate the improving, not for experts to show off. Even assuming you got it right ???
And with all those clues, can no-one name that island ?
Last, is no-one else at all at all out there that agrees that this TND is kinda good.

First of all I am not a level 5, but thanks for the compliment. Does this mean I don\'t have to do the assessment.
I actually think that this issue of TnaD is excellent. Maybe we need to start looking at colour photos which would enhance it more. If the cost was not too excessive maybe we could increase membership contributions.
Also I think it would be a good idea if we recommenced putting TnaD on the notive site again.

Finally can anyone give me info re hiring sea kayaks in Corsica.

Jaysus Mark! sure you\'d never be able to catch me to hurt me. I am only enquiring about Corsica, no definite plans yet other areas will be looked at and all suggestions are welcome.

Level 5 is a state of mind. Level 5s are level 5s because of how they paddle. The absence of the piece of paper doesn\'t change that. And before you say it, having the piece of paper doesn\'t either!
Get the piece of paper. The whole insurance industry works on the basis of trainees being led by qualified leaders working within the parameters of their qualifications. Some day the slates on someone\'s house (not necessarily yours, but someone close, will be unthreatened by some calamity because you have it.
Anyway if you go to Corsice I\'ll mind you and keep you safe, but the offer remains only so long as there are less than four of you. Add just one more Carraher to the Irish kayaking scene and I will disown you.
But back to the point, was that Balbriggan Harbour or wasn\'t it. Sheet 43 throws up another possibility .....
