Hi everyone.
Myself and the missus just purchased a VW T4 Camper in vgc even tho its a 93! With a view to more sea kayaking / Surfing trips. We have invested in a respray as we live coastal etc.
What I need to know is..
Are there any other members here with T4\'s who have fitted sea kayak carrying racks to a high roof camper? I have a friend who is a professional metal worker / Fabricator who can make and fit the rack. But what I would like is some design ideas.
We are looking to fit 2 x Point 65\'s, Whiskey 16 & 18.
I personally think up top will be too high up and difficult to load, so side mounted at roof height seems to be the way to go.
All suggestions gratefully received.
Ps, Hope to have it ready for Symposium.
Regards and thanks in advance for help.

Volkwagen T4 Help required?
Re:Volkwagen T4 Help required?
According to the department of transport:
\"A load, other than loose agricultural produce neither baled nor crated, on a vehicle shall not project to the side of the vehicle by more than 300 millimetres beyond the extreme projecting points of the vehicle as determined in Regulation 23. \" Not sure but this might cause problems. Personally I\'d suggest getting a trailer.

If you drop me an email on jamiedonald(at)eircom(dot)net I\'ll send you on some pics of our set up. I don\'t think the width is too much of a problem if you consider the wing mirrors as the widest part of the main van.

Just spotted this.
Aengus Parsons in Oughterard did exactly what you are talking about I believe.
Gerry Spain or some other local will have a contact detail for him, and they should know if I am right about this. He did the job ages ago but the T4 is about since early 90s.
