Tarps

Post by ciaran » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

I\'m well convinced of the usefulness of tarps in a kayaking and camping context. Even in sunny Greece we used the tarp as a rain shelter, and could have used it to keep the sun off.

Question - where to get one? There\'s plenty on eBay from survivalist shops in the UK, but I\'m not sure that they represent good value, or the best product. Really, I can imagine that a sheet of pertex with suitable grommets and so on would be best, but I\'m not seeing this.

Ideas, sources ?

thanks

Any tarp is as good as another... I use a run of the mill plastic one with eyelets. You should be able to get one in a good DIY shop, that\'s where I got one.

Happy camping :)

yo the tarp we used was from www.globetrotter.de being german they are about 15% more expensive but for travelling they are very light and pack up very small a mossie net comes in handy as well no need for a tent especially if you meet friendly locals

Try DD-Hamock and Tarps
They do 3x3m and 3x4,5m Tarps
the Tarps have webbing loops all around the Tarp
and along the centerline, very handy if you want to
hang it between two trees.
