Irish Sea Crossing

Post by DesKeaney » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

Well done to Justine Curgenven and Barry Shaw who completed the 52nm Irish Sea crossing from the Lleyn peninsula to Wicklow in under 12 hours yesterday in a Triton double. This was Barry\'s ninth Irish Sea crossing.

Just over 8kph by my by my reckoning. To me that seems like a very fast average speed over such a distance. I know it is a double, but I can barely keep that up for an hour in a single. I guess I am getting old. A fine achievement, especially with the short mid-winter day.

Always put the guy up front so you can be sure he is pulling his weight.
