Marine Notice No. 24 of 2008

NOTICE TO ALL ALL ROUTINE USERS AND POTENTIAL USERS OF LIFEJACKETS IN CONNECTION WITH EMPLOYMENT OR LEISURE PURPOSES.

Seago Yachting Limited, based in the UK, has issued a recall on safety grounds of certain batches of its 150 & 175 Newton lifejackets, including junior lifejackets. The lifejackets may have a defect and could result in serious injury.

The affected batches were manufactured between the fourth quarter of 2005 and the first quarter of 2007. They are marked with the manufacturing date, which is printed in Roman numerals and represents which quarter of the year it was made (i.e. \"IV/05\" = the last quarter of 2005). These batches are:

· IV/05
· I/06
· II/06
· III/06
· IV/06
· I/07

Consumers are advised to check the manufacture date of their Seago lifejacket. If it is one of the affected batches, stop using it immediately, and return it to:

Seago Yachting Limited, Mullany Business Park, Golden Cross, Halisham, East Sussex, BN27 3RP, UK.

Please enclose your full contact details and Seago Yachting Ltd will issue a replacement lifejacket. If you have any queries, Seago Yachting Ltd. can be contacted on 0044 1825 873632.
