GREYSTONES - HARBOUR RE-DEVELOPMENT

Post by alanhorner » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm

As this area is one of the more familiar East Coast Paddles - this could be of interest....

This info is extracted from our local paper \"Bray People\"

>Preliminary work to begin beore Christmas
>It will take 5 years to complete
>Traffic Calming Measures & a 30kph speed limit in the vicinty of the Harbour.
>Coastal Protection works, North & South Breakwaters will start the development, Later in the development Community Clubs & Coastguard Sites will be constructed.
>Once the Harbour works are complete work will begin on the construction of Apartments.
> Local Councilors are pushing for more information about the works to be published on the internet. (no website details published.)
+++++++++++++
My Comments :-

For any Meet Leaders planning to start in Greystones -

It is quite likely that the Harbour works - will disrupt the usual public access in Greystones (No hard details are given in this article) and parking adjacent to the Harbour could become difficult or impossible.

I\'m sure all Local Paddlers will be keeping a watchful eye
and it would be great if you notice anything that could affect access to the Harbour to post an update here on the BB.
