Wicklow lifeboat and the air sea rescue services were involved in a rescue of three kayakers off Greystones this Sunday morning. These canoeists as they were called were blown out to sea by the wind. Conditions were very windy at the time F5 to F6. A couple of weeks ago we met a couple of lads on Sit Ons. One lad was not wearing a PDF and the other lad fell off his sit on in very calm conditions. It would not suprise me if these lads were involved in this incident.
We all have responsibility (moral) to advise people about getting proper training and wearing the proper equipment. When we met the lads a few weeks ago we told them of the legal situation regarding PDF\'s and also advised them regarding training and the dangers of being blown out to sea by off shore winds.
Well done to the Life boat crew for the rescue. It is a very apt time to be having the quiz to raise money for them. Don\'t forget next Wednesday the 28th Feb.
