Hello all,
would anybody be interested in a trip to Cape Clear on the weekend of the 10th-12th of November coming weather permitting? I\'ll be heading over anyway for a friend\'s birthday and have always wanted to paddle to the island so if anybody\'s interested post here and we\'ll try and get some numbers for it. There\'s camping, B&B and hostel on the island for anyone who\'s unfamiliar to it and it\'s off the West Cork coast. Renowned for bird and whale watching too.
Richard.

that\'s symposium weekend, so many paddlers will be in Sligo....
Re:paddle to cape clear
I know, I didn\'t realise til after though. It should still be a good trip if anybody isn\'t going to Sligo and wants to go.And there\'s plenty to do on the island after the paddling.

Hi Richard,
I might be on, weather permitting. Where were you planning setting out from - Schull, Baltimore etc.? and what route? I\'m near Schull.
Can you text me your # or any update to 086 063 6436?
Regards, Steve

Re:paddle to cape clear
Got your text, Cape would definitely be out, S/SW winds, big swells onto windward shore. Exposed and not nice.
Sunday might improve, Outlook until 1300 Sunday 12 November 2006: Strong to gale force westerly winds veering west to northwest and moderating later tomorrow. Moderate southwest winds developing early Sunday. Showers dying out later tomorrow. Patchy rain to follow on Sunday.
If you prefer, could consider a sheltered trip out of Baltimore or Cunnamore, e.g. Heir Island etc. (9km). Is it worth throwing a boat on the roof rack just in case? Up to you.
Steve
Note: HT Baltimore 08:50 Sat; 09:50 Sun.

Re:paddle to cape clear
I\'ll be defiantly heading to Cape Clear for an overnight trip so the kayak would be on it\'s own on the car in Baltimore. I\'d prefer to leave it for another day. Maybe over the Christmas holidays. I\'ll keep in contact anyway!
