Greenlander pro is a relatively (though not excessively) tippy boat. It\'d be a good idea to take a test drive
That said, I paddle one and really like it.

I\'m not saying it wouldn\'t suit you, just that it\'s more challenging than some other boats. I\'d advise you to take a spin in one before deciding, that\'s all.
They are - fast, roomy, and fast. They don\'t turn as quick as my other boat (an avocet), but they\'re fast. And they deal ok with side-winds (with the skeg deployed) and side-chop (esp if you edge it a bit). And they roll fine. I really like mine, but I\'m not really a beginner any more.
Carl Farmer also had one for a while and posts here often - he\'d give you his feedback if you asked....

The person selling would probably prefer me to give you feedback off the board... It was not the boat for me, I sold mine on for something more stable/comfortable.

Re:Sea kayak Greenlander Pro for sale
Thanks for the replies guys.
I think I\'ll wait a bit until I get some experience and see what suits me.
I have limited experience in Kayaks on still river waters , no roll experience and no experience in a sea kayak- so I\'m greener than green to be honest.
I\'m booked in on a course at tollymore MC for some experience but I\'m gagging to get started .
I\'m sure I\'ll kick myself for letting this go , but better get a few hours experience up and then see what suits me.
Cheers folks.
All the best , Tim . :woohoo:

Re:Sea kayak Greenlander Pro for sale
Hi Tim
I\'m getting back into the sport after many years absence. Started off last year by buying a cheap 2nd hand Skerray RM, Bit slow and basic but a fine beginners boat. Have tried out the Avocet too, which is nice. Will upgrade to a faster glass boat when experience builds and finance permit.
My advice is to go one-up from the centre bathtubs (Capella\'s etc.) and take it from there. Spend the spare cash on some good safety equipment - flares, VHF, towing system, paddle float, spare split paddle, clothing etc. etc. The extras needed for sea kayaking (unlike river) seem endless.
Just my honest opinion.
Cheers
Steve
