2 paddlers \"Camped\" on inisglora were \"rescued\".
Some question as to whether they were camping by choice
or by necesity.
Seems they did not carry VHF Radio and so could not communicate with the emergency services to alert them to the fact that they were safe
even if they were maybe Overdue on their return time.
There is a lesson or two here for any paddlers
setting out to camp overnight.
Always let a \"Shore Agent\" know where you are going and when you will be back.
Always carry means of communication - ie. VHF
as Mobile Phone coverage is non existant on many off-shore islands.
and Learn how to use it properly.
Make a call phone or VHF to the local Coastguard Station
to alert them that you are on the water, give your trip plan
Times of return, no of People, No of Kayaks.
Call them again if you are overdue for return and again
when you are back safely.
