Re: POSTPONED To 9th/10th May - Streamstown ISKA Meet
If you have been following the weather, it will come as no surprise that we have had to postpone the meet. Unfortunately the weather gods are against us and particularly on the Saturday when the outlook can only best be described as miserable.
Postponed for only a week, everything will go ahead as planned (fingers crossed) on the following weekend, with organised trips on both Saturday and Sunday. The BBQ will also be part of this meet, with hot food for everyone on the Saturday evening.
See you all then.

Its an ill wind that blows no good. Cant make this weekend but next looks more promising. Hope to make it then. Will confirm later in the week.

Next week looks even worse than this weekend with F8/10 predicted.

If we're off the water early on Sunday ( if we get on the water at all! ) then maybe some people would like to help out with this:
Clean Coasts Ireland beach cleanup at Streamstown this Sunday
see http://cleancoasts.org/
Streamstown Point, Connemara
There will be a clean up of Streamstown Point on the 10th of May at 3pm, the group will meet directly beforehand at Clifden ecoBeach camping and caravanning Park. For more information on this beach clean please contact the Clean Coasts team on 01 4002210 or cleancoasts@eeu.antaisce.org

16th/17th May - Streamstown ISKA Meet
Sorry folks, after much debate we felt it was best to postpone this meet for another week to the 16th/17th May and try one last time.
This coming weekend Friday, when most arrive, is set to be a washout. Sunday also forecasts heavy rain. That only leaves Saturday, with showers and F4+ winds which we could certainly manage. However with these conditions we would only expect the die hards and no more than perhaps 10 to 15 at best. Most of the food we provide and cater for would be thrown out, not to mention problems erecting and taking down the canvas bell tents.
We will give this one more try and hope for the best for the weekend of 16/17 May.

16th/17th May - Streamstown ISKA Meet
Thunderbirds are go and this meet will go ahead this coming weekend, 16/17 May. Rain should clear teatime Friday and it looks like being dry for most of the weekend and especially all throughout Saturday.
It will be a little blowy and the sea a wee bit bouncy. For paddling, Streamstown Bay is always an option and you should easily manage Inisturk and Tubrid. If you want to go a distance, around and into Clifden can also be a consideration.
Large teepee tents will be available to all and the communal BBQ, with hot food for everyone on the Saturday evening. To give Peter and crew an idea for numbers, you might post if you are travelling.

Once more unto the breech dear friends. Once more !
We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
Okay I'm motivated now
See ye on the beach !!!
