We have Laminated maps of the area, there is no need for anyone to have to buy any.

Re: Shannon Estuary Meet - June 17th / 18th 2017
some clarification is needed.
the plan Friday is to camp on the shore at Kildysart, with possibly a late evening paddle (after 9:30pm). You can ignore Brian's earlier post re camping on Inishtubbbrid Island Fri night, see his following post instead.
Sat we'll camp offshore on Coney Island.
We'll have at least one laminated map for each team, so no need to bring your own. But if you have OS 64 from the Discovery Series, the orienteering will take place on the islands on the NE of that map.
If you have a hand-held compass bring it along. Also a document folder would be useful, tho not essential.
We'll provide waterproof markers.
We shouldn't have midges, but never say never! After all it's June and warm and near water....So if you have a midge net bring it.
Weather's looking promising, so shaping up to be a lovely weekend!

How're ya Donal.
If your down early the best pier to launch from is Crovraghan pier it's a few kilometres just before Kildysart.
HW Friday is 2310hrs. Kildysart can only be negotiated say 2 hours either side of that whereas Crovraghan can be accessed at all tide levels.
I'm sure there will be an evening paddle organised. We will see who's about.
If you have VHF working channel for weekend is CH72. Keep it on and we can keep tabs with each other.
Weather is going to be a scorcher for the weekend so remember plenty of liquids ! Also sun block a must.
There is a clean well and fresh water on Coney Island near our camp spot.
Looking forward to seeing you all. Safe driving.
