A group from Dublin are planning a trip Saturday 28th January
to go out to Hook Head and try and paddle out to where the Fin Whales are. We will be keeping our distance off circa 100metres maybe more...
If interested we will be meeting at Sandeel Bay near Hook Head about 09.30hrs.
We expect to paddle circa 20kms ++ ??
Really we can\'t say until we know where the Whales are etc.
Check out the IWDG website where they reported Dolphins, Minke & Fin Whales in the area over last few days. Bring Waterproof binoculars they are a must,
Be prepared for snacking/drinking on the water and probably a very late lunch - Seafood Chowder at the Hook Head Cafe is usually excellent
Weather seems promising for next Saturday at this stage - but will update towards mid-week.
e-mail me if you intend to come along

Looks to me like you got yourself a nice shot of a humpback whale there. Not an easy task from a kayak. Good work.

Have put a few new shots of Hook Head Humpbacks on Gallery. Not brilliant quality but give a hint of these magnificent giants.
