Donegal - Final Update

Post by Gavan » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:51 pm

It is too windy for the west coast of Donegal. We are going to meet at 10:00 on Saturday morning at Stocker Strand, Ballymastoker Bay near Portsalon (Lough Swilly) for a beautiful paddle. There is a public car park at C 250 380 where we meet. We will have to finalise Sunday\'s paddle on Saturday evening.
Mary has arranged camping at Gartan Outdoor Education Centre, Church Hill 22 km from Letterkenny. When you hit the Pole Star roundabout in Letterkenny (lots of telegraph polls) stay left and follow signs for Church Hill. About a half km down the hill once you pass through Church Hill follow sing for Gartan OEC on left. Mary will have signs up in the centre grounds to direct you to the campsite. Camping is €5 per head per night.
Ring or txt me on 087-6712335 tomorrow afternoon / evening if you intend camping on Friday night. Coverage isn\'t great there so if you arrive and I cannot be found in the campsite try one of the flesh pots in Church Hill.

The saturday paddle is the final trip for the series Sea Road by Gary Quinn for the Irish Times.

youse need to be more careful posting images
check the filename for spaces (ie the bit between img and /img tags)
and get rid of the size=.... parameter

If you want to resize an image, you could do worse than ImageMagick
http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php
In this case I reduced it to 25% of the original and converted to .png format with this command

convert Fanad.JPG -resize 25% fanad.pngPost edited by: tee, at: 2012/08/31 13:37
