Tour of Lambay on east coast.

Post by Maurice » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:50 pm

Yep. That time has come around again and ISKA/ECSK..... have an oppertunity to view this wonderful Island. As in the past, numbers are limited, so the first half dozen or so to post here please be at Rush pier at 10.30 on saturday next (11th). Plan, WEATHER PERMITTING. is to have visit island and then paddle round. THIS IS A PEER PADDLE. PLEASE BE HONEST WITH YOUR ABILITIES. Maurice.

Hi Maurice,

I missed the last one and would love to come on this one.
The last time I was out there we actually saw the wallabies from the sea. It was surreal to sea them bouncing along the hill top.

See you there,
Conor

Hi Maurice,
I too missed the last one. I would love to go with you.
I have paddled there before but without the tour!
May I join you?

Hi Maurice,
a sailor working colleague has brought to my attention that the howth/lambay yacht race is on this sat also (see the below link ) so there might be a bit more boat traffic around than usual ;-) Not sure what time etc it starts but maybe someone else is in the know.

just fyi.

Chris

O.K. All those who have responded are in.... HOWEVER!!!!!!... Thanks to Chris I have been given the quids up on the fact that Howth Yeaht Club have their annual regatta round Lambay... I have spoken with the Commodore (I think) and i understand that the first boats are off at 12.15. These would not cause a prob for our outer journey but traffic might be heavy for our return, they will ply the inner sound. Unless anyone is comfortable negotiating 100 plus boats under sail, may i impose a wee postonment??!! (yet another....... I am doing my best to swing this). Can I suggest to all who expressed an interest that we meet on Sunday at 2.30pm. the old rule that.... Timber yields to metal and small yields to big seems apt..... Oh, Thanks to Chris, we wont be shooting the messenger. please post if this ammendment suits. Maurice.

Hi Maurice, that\'s ok with me - the wind at that time just drops from F5 to F2: what a timing!
see you there, Nic

My first choice would be to run the gauntlet
But as I am a guest, I will gladly accept the Sunday offer.

Also, the conditions might be a bit interesting too.

See you there.

Met suggests that Sunday afternoon may be very windy, from the East.

Best of luck with it.
