We have a couple of places available on our Navigation course this weekend.
The course will be broadly based on the navigation/trip planning module in ICU Level 4 Sea Proficiency award. This covers how to calculate tides, how to get and understand weather, group awareness, map, chart and compass work and how to pull the whole lot together into a sensible and doable trip.
As the planning of a trip is so important, we’ll spend a couple of hours each morning on this and will be on the water for the rest of the day. We’ll launch from Bullock Harbour and use the tides and islands around Dalkey for the exercises. We’ll finish each day around 5 p.m.
The two days costs €153 and is suitable for anyone paddling at Level 3 or above.
