Re: Eastern Seaboard Meet - 29, 30 June & 1 July 2018
Thanks to Dave for all his work in organising the weekend and encouraging and cajoling everyone to come along.
We are looking forward to welcoming all to Portrane. Camping in a large private field 300m from the beach with basic camping facilities; space for tents, parking, running water and latrine, no showers, no fridge, think off-shore camping rather than full facility campsite. Saturday's launch point for Lambay is only a few minutes drive.
It's a bit tricky to find us so follow the signs from the green in Portrane. Signs will be out and I will be there from 3pm on Friday. My better half has offered to cook a nice bowl of chilli for first comers on Friday evening. Can’t guarantee how long it will last though.
We have lots of firewood for the campfire and a small marquee just in case. Bring all your usual camp gear and don’t forget to pack a camp chair.
There is a newsagent beside the green in Portrane for milk and last minute stuff and a fully stocked Supervalu 5 minutes away in Donabate. It may be wise to buy perishables (and cold beer) there rather than trying to keep them cool in the heat. Otherwise the bottom of the boat is probably the coolest spot you will find this weekend. Oh and don’t forget to pack the sun cream.

RSVP ASAP
Thanks Alan and to everyone else that has paid in advance, it's been a great help.
Can I please ask everyone to RSVP - you don't need to post it publicly, just click on my name and send me a 'private message' with the following information. We are camping on private property, so your help is much appreciated...
If you’re coming, please confirm immediately if you haven’t already told us or paid the Lambay landing fee.
We need to know numbers for planning camping, and BBQ food, as well as trip planning numbers.
The following information please:
If you are camping Fri night and / or Saturday night?
How many people are coming with you, including non-paddlers? All welcome
Are you using tent or RV/van?
Are you ( yours) coming to BBQ too? All are welcome, just give us numbers.
For the BBQ, as advised, there will be standard fare but we won’t be providing steak or booze. Bring a steak if you like, and no problem using the BBQ. Veggie options are included.
Thanks for your help!
Specifically Brian, Liz, Moira, Emma, Denis, Alan
and gerry, cormac, gene, mark, fiona?
