Re: Insurance
Just for information please. How often have things happened that needed insurance - have there been lots of accidents - many claims - court cases ?? Are numbers available ? This whole liability thing is making me nervous. Use to be, I only had to worry about the weather.

Re: ISKA Committee Meet & Email
Likewise us CANI members in the north - but to risk labouring the point yet again - many of us already have global cover via our domestic public liability insurance. It could pay folk to check the small print of their property insurance (for example) to see what nice extras come with the package. As...

Re: ISKA Committee Meet & Email
Nor sure if this is quite the right slot to post in but here goes anyway ! Can someone explain why sea kayakers are being told we need yet more insurance ? Is there a salesperson in the ranks ? Lots of questions here. Do I need personal liability cover ? For years a lot of us have been stumping up f...

Re: Pumps & Paddle floats
John, if you are shopping for a replacement and looking for brands to avoid - my NRS pump is also starting to fail and is only one and a half action after 2 years. I had it stripped down but can't see the problem. The handle has been suspect for a while. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56652685/...

Re: VHF recommendations...
September and I've only just noticed this thread. "Just one press of the red button ..." You might still want to make the Distress call - as your set will revert to Ch.16 after the automated alert is sent. This may well reach someone without DSC who may be able to help. Sorry for the delay...
