Re: Aran Islands Meet Clare/Galway - Weekend 18th August 2018

How's everyone ? Looks like we may have to resort to Plan B. I will call it Wednesday - However if weather doesn't change we will be resorting to fallback. Our fallback RV for the weekend will be out of Kinvara Village - Galway Bay. Overnight camp on Eddy Island at the mouth of Kinvara Bay - very at...

Re: Aran Islands Meet Clare/Galway - Weekend 18th August 2018

Went out to Meain overnight also camped on shore. It's one of the few Islands that hasn't been touristised ! They all speak Gaelic and every c...

Re: Aran Islands Meet Clare/Galway - Weekend 18th August 2018

Hi Rosie, Probably wouldn't do any harm to book as it's peak season. Both campsites have a lot of capacity so accommodating us shouldn't be a problem. Nagles site is the closest to the pier. http://www.doolincamping.com You could leave your car at the campsite which will save you a few euro as the c...

Landing on Skelligs

How's everyone. This Summer has been remarkable so far. The settled weather has allowed us to get to spots that would normally require intense planning a weather window and luck. Skellig rock being a prime example. Bob the OPW guide on the island said that they've never seen so many Kayaker's land t...
