For the early birds amongst you, we are opening up registration for the July meet at the end of the month.
PLAN A
Paddling out from Doolin Co Clare, our plan on the Saturday morning is to set out for Inis Meain for an overnight wild camp. We will camp in an open field to the right of the old pier, behind the beach - grid ref L9495 0485
There are no facilities here, bring everything you need.
On the island there is a pub/restaurants and shop approx 20 min walk from the camp site. Choose yourself whether you want to completely provide for your needs or perhaps grab your evening meal in the pub. Either way, bring what you need in case the restaurant is over booked. We will likely stop off on Inis Oirr, either on the way out or on the return leg.
SATURDAY - be at the pier for 10ish to allow time to pack your kayak to be gone for 11am.
FIRDAY - for anyone wishing to come early for a possible paddle Friday afternoon along the Cliffs of Moher, this will be a peer paddle. Organise this amongst yourselves but please post the details here so others can join you.
DOOLIN - for overnight parking, the charge is €5 for 30hrs. Please leave your car in the car park by Nagle’s Campsite. Do not use the pier carpark, leave this for the ferry users.
ARRIVING FRIDAY - for anyone arriving Friday and looking to camp, I suggest you first try Nagle’s Campsite. Alternatively, O’Connor’s Riverside Camping is another option, which is nearer to pubs & restaurant, only 5 minutes up the road. Both sites are likely to be very busy, so book early. We have nothing organised here.

PADDLING ABILITY - please note, this is an open ocean crossing and should not be taken likely. You must be comfortable off shore and be able to keep with a group averaging 5-6kmph and in your boat for 2+ hours before any landing. If unsure, please contact me beforehand 086-8283 247.
REGISTRATION - for anyone wishing to join us, you must register your interest. Please do not just turn up on the day, we need to know numbers beforehand.
REGISTRATION FORM - Click Here - https://forms.gle/4djWS7Gjp3PXBQj97
PLAN B - obviously the trip above is very much weather dependent. If Inis Meain is not possible, we will look to Connemara.

Re: ISKA MEET 28-30 JULY
The map is for Guide Purposes only at this point.
On the island itself, give yourself an hour or two to look about, visit Dun Chonchúir stone fort and see the place in general. It is a lovely destination if the weather allows us to visit.
Downloadable maps if you wish to laminate to bring with you on the weekend:

Re: ISKA MEET 28-30 JULY - POSTPONED
With winds forecast F5, gusting F6, over the whole weekend, unfortunately the weather is not in our favour and we will have to postpone this meet. Even plan B is not an option.
Locally paddlers in the area still hope to spend an night on Inis Meain over the coming weeks, even out in to September. If we see an opportunity, I will post the details here and everyone again is welcome to join us.
Hope to catch up soon.
