I am told by a physics teacher that refraction just applies to light. Fascinating photo but I would love an explanation. Physics teacher can\'t help, can you?

What is wave refraction?

Wave refraction is expressed in fluid media (eg: water) so tell your physics teacheer that he/she is WRONG! I know that I would have derived much pleasure in doing so when I was in school!

This picture also show Diffraction...the bending of waves through a gap, and waves moving in the \"shadow\" of the objects causing the gap... ie: the rocks.
