Update for any one interested.
Between Galley head and Mizen head . Lots of Whale activity .
Fins, Humpbacks , Pilots and lots and lots of dolphins.
To day some of the humpbacks are breaching half mile off Baltimore beacon .
I was on Long strand as well this morning and was watching dolphins in the surf, while out yesterday near Hi and Lo Island there were fin whales close by.
But it seems there is guaranteed activity off of Baltimore. There seems to be lots of food around so this could go on for a while.

Jim, a local guy who knows you and cycles (bicycles) with me told me Saturday night that Humpbacks have been circulating in front of his house which lies overlooking Kedge Island, including inside Kedge, clockwise on the falling tide and anti-clockwise on the rising.
First, is this really possible ?
Second, were they inside Kedge ?
Third, the rising falling thing ?

That sound correct.
The food gathers in Eddies. if you see the flow direction, more than likely that is where the Kedge s eddy is and changes with the tide.
There are whale along the coast at the moment mostly Fins . Humpbacks tend to be more spectacular and visual. Lots of Dolphins.
The same pattern takes place near the Stags and Hi and Lo Islands.
A few years ago outside the same gentleman\'s house we could hear whales breaching as we came to the mouth of Barlogue creek at the entrance to Lough Hyne. Usually after here they turn up off of Waterford..
We are out Saturday for a trip looks flat and inviting.
