the West Coast winter Freeze (aka the Connemara Christmas canooodle) is but a month away.

Date: Saturday December 17th
Location: South Connemara
On the water: 10am (ambitious, I know)
Mulled wine lunch: 1pm (please bring mince pies or other festive fare)
Winter freeze feast : 7pm

Accommodation will be available on Friday and Saturday night, on a bring- your-own-bag basis.

In order plan the after-paddle feast, we will need to know numbers so post here (or contact me directly) if you\'re planning to come along.
The accommodation is free, the food is not so bring a few sheckels to cover the cost. You will be responsible for your own lunch, breakfast and booze.

As always, this will be a peer paddle.

Small craft warnings, .3m waves, near-horizontal swell, vicious 5-minute squalls and rushing tidal races and overfalls - what more could you ask for on a winter freeze? The double rainbows, watery sunshine, mulled wine and christmasy confectionary were a bonus.

Thanks to all who showed up, without whom it would have been pointless....

The cuisine was a bonus too! A great time had by all. Thanks to all involved, especially Josie and Máire and Gerry.
