Kevin O\'Callaghan (Geo) - through ICU has arranged a supplementry training course for all L3 Sea Instructors and for trainee L3 sea instructors focussed on some more advanced elements of Sea Kayak Navigation
On balance a good add-on to the L3 instructor package.

Course Syllabus

Sea Kayaking CPD

The above will take place in North Clare on the weekend of the 6th / 7th November 2010. The cost of the weekend is €60, which includes instruction accommodation and an evening meal in the Burren OEC. You need to bring your own lunches and breakfast.

Session 1: Teaching on tides and races

Session 2: Navigation 1: Coastal sea Navigation

Session 3: Advanced Sea Navigation

Session 4: Linking Strokes

Session 5: Using GPS

Session 6: Rescues


Resources for teaching the new Navigation awards will be available to eligible instructors. The course is open to all sea instructors and trainee instructors. To book a place on the course, contact the Canoeing Ireland office. Kevin.OCallaghan(at)gmit.ie (Geo)

It\'s definately going ahead. You need to book it through the ICU office. You can download an applcation form from the site - canoe.ie and mail it in to info@canoe.ie.
