Oileáin 500

Let the party begin. Oileáin has reached 500 !
Knotman reports that he witnessed a lady (well, Eileen Murphy, to be truthful) swim ashore onto Foze Rock Small V164-904, 1km NE of Foze Rock Great) in 2004 on the second day of the ISKA meet to the Blaskets. This was not reported at the time. Nor did anybody else do that that I can find out. Yet. Even the Ceann Dubh said any sensible person wouldn\'t get within a mile of it ......
Another party claimed another oversight on my part, in Waterford.
I thank everyone for their input.
Nevertheless, I decree that Eileen\'s effort means that Samphire Island Little off Fenit, landed last Sunday 9th August 2009, is Oileáin\'s 500th. That may not be entirely logical, but I have never seen the point in having power and not abusing it ?
Fenit forever, Saint Brendan forever, Samphire forever, and Sam Maguire always in Kerry.

P.S. Pete Hennessen taught everyone on a WISKA meet about a month ago about Rock Samphire and Marsh Samphire - eat the former, eschew the latter. I dedicate the coincidence of the 500th island name to him, splendid fellow, and I don\'t care what everyone says about him.
