Hi

I have been reading your website with interest – I am part of a local Round Table and the past few years, we have tried to set ourselves a physically demanding goal to concentrate raising money for charity around – for example this year we cycled coast to coast, and last year we completed the 3 Peaks challenge.



I am keen for next year’s challenge to be a group of us to kayak across the Irish Sea (Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire) – it has been some years since I last kayaked at sea, and I am sure that some of my friends may have little / no experience of this at all.



I would be grateful for any pointers you could give to the practicality / training required to achieve this, as I believe some of your members have already achieved this.



I would have posted this on your bulletin board, but was unable to find a point to register on the site (I am sure by design!)

I\'m sure this is one of the 50 trips covered in this book. Don\'t have it to hand to check. It\'s on my trip list but haven\'t got around to it yet. I believe the typical time would be in the region of 18-20 hours? (but obviously can be done faster).
