My poor old Navico Axis 200 handheld vhf radio needs a new battery. Anyone know where they are to be obtained? Barry Electronics in Killibegs tell me they are difficult - read impossible - to source.

Alternatively, a more \"modern\" device might be necessary. Any recommendations from regular users? I have info on Entel HT640 (waterproof) @ Euro199 + VAT, and on ICOM IC-M31 (water-resistant) @ Euro235 + VAT.

Assistance much appreciated.

I had the same problem with the Navico. I gave up in the end. The Icom M31 is an excellent radio, except the central battery terminal corrodes. Otherwise, great battery, easy to use, very dependable and no knobs.
