Cork meet June bank holiday 2022

Post by steven d » Wed May 11, 2022 9:26 pm

Hello everyone

This year's Cork meet will take place in Allihies from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th June 2022. ISKA were last there in 2015! Our main base will be the campsite by the beach - no need to book if you have a tent but campers vans best to ring Anthony 0868121582 . There is also a hostel in the village and a few B&B's around. It was quite busy last summer!

I'll put up a registration form in 2 weeks.

Hi Steven,

Is it allowable for me to bring my 14 year old son on the weekend? Obviously he's not a member of ISKA because he's underage.

He is a keen kayaker and has completed trips over 20km in open water without problem. I would take full responsibility for him throughout the weekend.

Regards,

Tash.

Hi Tash
All paddlers must be signed up members of ISKA, and I will be contacting anyone who has signed up but isn't on the member list shortly. ISKA as an organisation is not set up for children and sadly we cannot have underage paddlers joining an ISKA trip.

Hi Steven,
I hope to make it down for the Sunday, what time do activities usually start in the morning? And would I need to sign up for one beforehand?
Thanks,
Fiona

Hi Martyn, If one side of the Beara penninsula is lumpy the other side should be flat, at least we can hope so! There should be something for you.

@Fiona the plan for Sunday will be discussed on Saturday evening. If you sign up I can text you.
