Leaving Magharoarty about 2 hours after high tide, making our way up along the west coast of Inishbofin towards Tory. The last 3km towards the island are renowned for turbulent conditions, on the eastern side there is a second pier, the surrounding area can have challenging waters but it is worth while as we witnessed a fantastic display by the resident puffins. It is easier to go anticlockwise around the island keeping a wide berth on the western (lighthouse) side as large waves kick up and it would be a very boney landing. We came to the main pier and got lunch and had a walk to allow the tide to start turning. On the way back just take a line for Errigal and your on your way. Conditions were force 2 S changing to force 2 N, calm sea state and .6m NW swells which were kicking up 7ft waves NW of the lighthouse.
