Folks, just a thought for either Saturday or Sunday’s paddle if the weather is as predicted at time of posting. Setting off from Cleggan Beach, first stop Shark Island to look around the old village and visit the bothy. We will then head for Boffin for a second stop before heading back in.

This is a round trip of circa 23/24km. Mindful of the two crossings, with two stops on the route, this is a lovely paddle.

The paddle for the other day is likely to be Friar and hopefully High. As of now it looks like both choices are on the cards, the actual conditions will determine the day.

Depending on numbers and experience, alternative more localised options likely also available. Something for everyone.

Sounds great.

Good to have an idea in advance of what's planned.....weather dependent of course.

Thanks

There's good parking (a car park) and launching at Selerna for Bofin and Shark. More or less the 'last accessible beach' on the S side of Cleggan Harbour. GR L587 585

An extra 5K would get us around Bofin, if there was an appetite for it.

What a weekend !!!

Thanks a million for coming out and making it such a success. We all raised €600 for the RNLI and we survived Peter and Mayo Dave's cooking  only messing it was wonderful as always.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this Meet a success.

Fantastic weekend at Streamstown!! Superb effort from Dave, Peter, Martin & of course Kris for hosting us again. Lots of big trips done and also nice to see so many new members. Thank you to all those who gave up their time to look after the less experienced and thanks to Martin Duffy of West Coast Kayaking for running the improver course.

Cheers
Chris
