The day will be spent in our dedicated rolling pool. We initially explore the range of self-rescue options open to us and their pros and cons. We will then work through the various options ‘Cow Boy’, ‘Paddle Float’ and re-entry and roll. As time allows we will also explore options for getting an injured or exhausted paddler back in their boats using the ‘stirrup’ etc.
Have you missed your roll and felt vulnerable? Would the preferred option have been to be able to climb back in, use a paddle float or re-entry and roll?
This course is not necessarily aimed at those who can roll a sea kayak but for those who we can introduce to a number of further options.
