Training Subsidies
Hi all, information about training subsidies which can be applied for by active ISKA members is available here . The basic story is that you can request a subsidy of up to half your course fee, for any relevant course (ICU/BCU skills training or assessment, VHF, REC3...), provided by an accredited p...
Re:Nutter?
The oddest thing is the tone of the comments by readers. Begrudgery isn\'t exclusive to Ireland, obviously!

<r>For anyone not paddling (spouses, say) but biking instead, the road that runs E-W to join the N tip of Kilkieran Bay is a revelation. The best continuous views of the mountains of any road in Connemara. You can find the road running east from Glenturkeen here<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://maps.goog...

Rona, Skye, Bothy
<t>For anyone else who may find themselves on Skye....<br/> <br/> Rona is a rocky and pretty island off the N.tip of Raasay, itself the largest of Skye\'s offshore islands. Raasay lies off the E. coast of Skye, which means it is somewhat sheltered from the prevailing SW winds. This makes it a good b...

Skye 2: Soay: Where to camp.
<t>Soay is the island right under the Cuillins in SW Skye, across from Loch Coruisk and not too far from the road at Glen Brittle or Elgol. <br/> <br/> Soay has at least two full-time residents, plus some part-timers, so it is certainly a good idea to get permission to camp. All inhabitants are on t...

If camping, the (commercial) Dogs Bay campsite outside Roundstone is recommended (by me, anyway). It\'s the one further away from town, after the Gurteen Bay one. Basic, but nice people.

Assuming I get an exit visa, I\'d be interested.
